About Us

Lindsey Surratt, JD, is a compliance director for Hill, Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services.

In her role with HCW, Lindsey specializes in health law and compliance, including healthcare reform. She guides clients and staff in regulatory compliance for health and welfare benefit plans. Lindsey utilizes her knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA and areas of the IRS tax code that impact employee benefits to help clients identify compliance concerns and make recommendations to help maintain their conformity under the law.

Prior to joining HCW, Lindsey practiced law in New Orleans, Louisiana where she analyzed healthcare contractual relationships, and provided advice on mergers and acquisitions of physician practices and Medicare fraud and abuse. Her work with employers on a broad scope of services related to the healthcare industry serves HCW clients well in their employee benefit compliance needs.

As a member of the American Bar Association Health Law Section, Lindsey serves on the eHealth, Privacy and Security, Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, and Managed Care and Insurance committees.

Lindsey received her Juris Doctor (JD) Cum Laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. She is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Mississippi. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. A native of Randleman, N.C., Lindsey resides in Durham, N.C.
